INDIANAPOLIS — A man succumbed to his injuries on Saturday, following a deadly incident on the near west side of Indianapolis that occurred on Friday.
On June 14, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department's south district officers were dispatched to the 3500 block of Dogie Road on a report of a person stabbed. Upon arriving at the scene, officers located an adult male victim with injuries consistent with trauma. According to IMPD, Indianapolis Emergency Medical Services transported the victim from the scene to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead the next day, but the Marion County Coroner's Office is still working to determine an exact cause of death.
IMPD officers said they identified and arrested 59-year-old Timothy Lisby during their investigation of the incident. Lisby initially faced aggravated battery charges, but his case has since been turned over to homicide detectives.
With assistance from homicide detectives, the Marion County Prosecutor's Office will make a final charging decision. Lisby remains in police custody.
The decedent's name will be released by the Marion County Coroner's Office after his family has been properly notified of his death.
