DELPHI, Ind. — Indiana State Police have arrested a Carroll County man on child pornography charges.
Daniel James Norfleet, a 55-year-old Delphi man, was arrested this week on nine felony child pornography possession charges. The arrest comes after an "extensive" year-long investigation.
The investigation into Norfleet began in 2023 after ISP detectives received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. After gathering evidence and getting a warrant, detectives searched Norfleet's home in April 2023.
Forensic exams of the items taken from Norfleet's home indicated possession of child sex abuse materials, ISP said. Subsequently, detectives were given additional search warrants to investigate Norfleet further.
On Thursday, June 20, detectives were granted an arrest warrant charging Norfleet with child porn possession. He has since safely been taken into custody and booked into the Carroll County Jail, ISP said.
Now, the Carroll County Prosecutor's Office will work to determine official charges against Norfleet. Online court records show an initial hearing in his case is scheduled for 3 p.m. on Monday, June 24.
