IMPD seeks assistance in identifying suspect in June shooting

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public's help in identifying a person who was reportedly involved in a shooting on the near northwest side of Indianapolis earlier this month.

According to a news release from IMPD, officers were called to the 2900 block of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. on a report of a person shot at around 2:20 a.m. on June 3. When officers arrived, they found a man with "injuries consistent with a gunshot wound(s)."

The release said that the man who was reportedly shot was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. IMPD did not identify the man who was shot.

Detectives from the department's aggravated assault unit responded to the scene after the shooting and obtained a photo of a person who was reportedly involved in the shooting.
