RUSH COUNTY, Ind. -- A Rush County man accused of having child pornography is now facing a felony charge after being arrested.
Indiana State Police said detectives with its Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began investigating 24-year-old Mark Herbert in December of 2023 after receiving cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children alleging that Herbert had devices containing child pornography in his possession.
The investigation concluded this week when detectives executed a search warrant at a residence in the 500 block of W. State Road 244 in Milroy, which led to Herbert's arrest. Authorities also utilized a digital device sniffing K-9 that assisted with the search warrant.
Herbert was transported to the Rush County Jail where he was preliminarily charged with possession of child pornography, which is a level 5 felony.
