ANDERSON, Ind. — An Anderson woman was arrested after dealing drugs that resulted in death, according to court documents.

Jamie Frances Pisano, 47, was charged with:

  • Dealing in a controlled substance resulting in death, a Level 1 Felony
  • Dealing schedule I, II, or III substance, a Level 6 Felony

According to the affidavit of probable cause, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Tamara Lane in Pendleton on a report of a double overdose of two individuals on Sept. 18, 2023.

Upon arrival at the scene, detectives interviewed multiple individuals who then showed officials images of the victims on the kitchen floor. During the conversation with detectives, one of the individuals received a call that the victim had died at an area hospital.

The detective then went to the hospital, where he spoke with the Madison County Deputy Coroner, who advised the officer that while he was searching the victim's pocket, he found a glass smoking device. The officer confiscated the items for evidence. The coroner further advised that the second individual who overdosed was "conscious and alert."

Officials then interviewed the second individual at the hospital in Anderson who advised that they were not under arrest. The individual stated that they went to Pisano's home to pick up Xanax. Upon returning to their home, they smoked meth and snorted Xanax. However, the officer said that he believed that the Xanax may have been fentanyl.

The autopsy report stated that the victim died from combined drug toxicity. The drugs listed were fentanyl and methamphetamine.

Information on sentencing will be updated as it becomes available.
