INDIANAPOLIS — A popular festival returned to Indy’s southeast side this weekend. It is time to check out the annual Waterman’s Strawberry Festival.
This year, people of all ages enjoyed live music and entertainment, rides, games, crafts, vendors and of course, all of the delicious food.
One of the crowd favorites was picking strawberries right off the vines which could then turn into a delicious dessert like a strawberry shortcake or one of the specialties, the strawberry attack funnel cake.
FOX59/CBS4 spoke with the man behind one of those creations, and he has the secret into what makes the best strawberry dessert.
“What’s [the secret] behind it? A whole lot of love. A whole lot of care and a lot of attention,” said David Tinsley, who makes the strawberry shortcakes. “I want people to enjoy what they eat, and I really enjoy watching someone’s first bite.”
