INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department says it has made an arrest following a shooting Friday afternoon on Indy's north side.
According to police, shortly before 4 p.m., officers were called to the 2900 block of Dr. Andrew J. Brown Avenue on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they located one victim who had been shot. The victim was reported to be in stable condition.
IMPD initially said it had detained one person, but at the time was unsure what the person's role was. Then, around midnight, IMPD announced it had arrested 31-year-old Shirley Jones for battery with a deadly weapon.
