BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Two sold-out, previously-moved shows from comedian Matt Rife scheduled for Wednesday night at the IU Auditorium in Bloomington have been canceled.
According to a release from Indiana University, the ProbleMATTic World Tour performances scheduled for 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Wednesday were canceled due to an "unexpected medical emergency."
The shows, which were originally scheduled for Valentine's Day on Feb. 14 and moved to this week due to "unforeseen scheduling circumstances," did not happen. The announcement was reportedly made 20 minutes after the 7 p.m. show was scheduled to begin.
In its statement, IU Auditorium did not elaborate further on what medical circumstances caused the cancelation. They did say a refund would be offered, however.
"Ticket purchasers will be refunded completely to their original methods of payment and will be reflected within 30 days," IU Auditorium said. "To be eligible for a refund, tickets must have been purchased through IU Auditorium or Ticketmaster directly."
For questions, IU Auditorium encouraged customers to email tickets@iu.edu, call (812) 855-1103 or visit IUauditorium.com. No other information was provided.
Rife took to social media to post an apology for the cancelation:
"INDIANA: I'm so f***ing sorry, but due to a last minute medical emergency i have to reschedule our shows tonight (again)," Rife said. "I've been doing 40+ shows a month for a year and half and never had to do something like this, I'm so so sorry, i hope you understand and i love you so much."
