JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — Two Johnson County summer road construction projects were announced on Tuesday.
According to the Johnson County Highway Department, Fry Road will be closed to all traffic west of State Road 135 for a bridge reconstruction project. Officials reported that alternate access to the Sable Ridge Subdivision will be available at Sable Ridge Lane.
Additionally, no left turns will be allowed from Sable Ridge Lane to SR 135. To drive north on SR 135, drivers must turn right off of Sable Ridge Lane and make a U-turn at Fry Road.
Construction on Fry Road is expected to start on June 3 and run through November.
Peterman and Morgantown Roads will also be subject to work this summer. Both roadways will be reduced to single-lane traffic with flaggers starting on June 3.
Traffic will be restricted on Peterman between County Line and Fairview Roads. Morgantown will be subjected to construction traffic between Fairview Road and Stones Crossing Road.
The roadways will be restricted during the day and opened to two-lane travel at night. Construction will start on June 3 and end on July 26, per the JCHD.
Construction on Morgantown and Peterman will allow crews to do milling and paving work on segments of both roadways. Officials are not going to mark a detour around Morgantown and Peterman because both will remain open during construction.
All timelines for completion of projects are subject to weather delays, which could impact the duration of construction.
