CASTLETON, Ind. - Police are investigating after a man was injured in a shooting in Castleton Sunday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just before 1 a.m., officers responded to the Veridian Castleton Apartments in the 7800 block of Ivywood Circle on the report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they located a man with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
Investigators say a group of people were arguing over whether to return to a party they had just left.
The incident escalated into slamming doors and eventually one person pulled out a gun and fired two shots at the ground. One of of the shots ricocheted and hit the man in the hand and hip.
The person who fired the weapon was taken downtown for questioning.
