LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Police are investigating after one person was killed and three others were injured in a shooting near a laundromat in Lafayette Thursday night.
Officers with the Lafayette Police Department were dispatched around 7:40 p.m. to 3100 South Street, the listed address for Lafayette Laundry, in response to reports of a shooting in the area.
LPD said officers arrived on the scene and located four individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. LPD confirmed to FOX59/CBS4 that a male has died and another male was transported to a hospital in Indianapolis for treatment of "critical" injuries. A male and a female were also last reported to be in stable condition.
The suspected shooter was among those injured, police said.
In a 10:37 p.m. update, police confirmed that all parties were accounted for. LPD previously reported that investigators were searching for a suspect they described as an "older" adult male wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and a black hat. Detectives reviewed security camera footage to determine which direction the suspect reportedly fled following Thursday's incident.
"There is no ongoing threat to the public, and all involved parties have been accounted for," Lafayette police said in a statement.
The shooting remains under investigation.
