INDIANAPOLIS — On Thursday, 315 people representing AES Indiana worked to beautify the oldest park in Indianapolis for an annual community service day.

According to a press release from AES Indiana, the company held its 14th Annual Day in the Parks Community Service Day on Thursday at Garfield Park. With hundreds of people showing up — 140 of which were lineworkers — this marked the company's largest volunteer effort since 2019.

“AES Indiana’s commitment to our customers and Central Indiana goes beyond providing affordable, reliable and sustainable energy solutions. True impact happens when we invest our time and resources in the communities where we live, work, and play,” said Brandi Davis-Handy, President of AES Indiana.

Davis-Handy also thanked Indy Parks and Recreation, as well as the Parks Alliance, for allowing the service day to happen under their partnership.

AES Indiana said much of their work took place at the Burrello Family Center in Garfield Park. Some of the projects included clearing invasive species, painting projects and creating a new mural inside the Burrello Family Center.
