WARSAW, Ind. — A Warsaw man was arrested after he allegedly drove from Indiana to New York to engage in sexual activity with a 14-year-old.
A joint investigation conducted by state police from New York and Indiana led to the arrest of 25-year-old Tyler Harmon. He now faces more than 27 preliminary charges, including sexually motivated felony and rape in the third degree.
According to a release from Indiana State Police, the investigation into Harmon's activity began in February. Troopers served an arrest warrant at Harmon's residence in Warsaw on Monday morning.
Police believe Harmon contacted the 14-year-old via the social media platforms Omegle and Snapchat. ISP reported that Harmon may have traveled from Indiana to New York three times to meet the juvenile.
After police served a warrant this morning, Harmon was transported to the Kosciusko County Jail without incident. He will be extradited to Warren County in New York at a later date.
