INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police were investigating multiple weekend shootings that left three people dead and several others injured.

The incidents took place between early Saturday morning and late Sunday night at various locations throughout the city.

Man killed in north side shooting

The first shooting was reported on the north side around 12:30 a.m. Saturday in the 600 block of East 38th Street.

Officers arrived to find a man outside a residence with gunshot wounds. He was taken to an area hospital where he later died. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified him as 28-year-old Chad Alan Cardy.

Two people were initially detained in connection with the case, although police later released them after consulting with the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office.

Shooting outside club

On the southeast side, officers responded around 3 a.m. Sunday to the 5200 block of English Avenue where a man was shot in the leg. Police said it happened in the parking lot of Club Paradise.

The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital. It marked the third time in the last month that officers have investigated a shooting connected to the club.

Northeast side shooting

Those shootings led to a busy Sunday night, with multiple shootings reported in the span of just a few hours.

Around 7 p.m., officers responded to the 4400 block of Jamestown Court, located near 46th Street and Arlington Avenue on the northeast side.

They found a man who’d been shot; he was taken to an area hospital in critical condition. The man later died, police said.

IMPD said a person of interest was detained in connection with that case; it appeared the shooting happened during a disturbance at one of the apartments.

Deadly south side shooting

Around 9 p.m., IMPD responded to the 1400 block of S. Illinois Street, where they found a person dead. The Marion County Coroner's Office identified him as 28-year-old Cameron Bradley Harmon. Police said he had injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

“We have no suspects at this time. We’re looking for some witnesses that left the area,” said Capt. Mark McCardia with IMPD.

McCardia said investigators are hoping someone comes forward with information in the case.

“We need people – somebody knows what happened here. Some people know what happened. And if they don’t know, they’ll hear what happened,” McCardia said. “So, we need people’s help. People who care about their community, that care about each other. Come forward and talk to us.”

Walk-in reports, person grazed

Other incidents included a pair of walk-in victims at area hospitals. IMPD said a person showed up a Community Hospital East with a gunshot wound around 9 p.m. Police didn’t say where the shooting originally occurred.

A second individual arrived at Eskenazi Hospital around 9:30 p.m., police said. The individual was in critical condition. IMPD didn’t provide information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police also responded to the 300 block of N. Hamilton Avenue, where they believed a man had suffered a gunshot graze wound. The victim declined medical attention at the scene, IMPD said.

In an update released Monday afternoon, IMPD reported that the person did not sustain a gunshot graze wound. Further information about the cause and nature of the person's injuries were not provided by police.

Officers also responded to E. New York Street and N. Gladstone Avenue late Sunday, where they found a person with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds. IMPD didn't disclose the extent of the injuries, saying only that the person was in stable condition.

The shootings remain under investigation. Anyone with information should contact IMPD or call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS (8477).
