INDIANAPOLIS — A person was critically injured in a shooting on the northeast side of Indianapolis Sunday night.
According to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department media notification, officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of Jamestown Court on a report of a person shot. When police arrived at the scene, they located an adult male with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

IMPD indicated that the victim was transported from the scene to a local hospital in critical condition. Investigators have preliminarily concluded that the person was shot during a disturbance that unfolded inside an apartment complex in the area.
Police detained a person of interest during their investigation. Public police reporting systems indicate officers were first called to the area around 7 p.m.
