INDIANAPOLIS -- An investigation is underway after a crash between a vehicle and an IndyGo bus in downtown Indy sent five people to the hospital early Tuesday afternoon.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that officers were dispatched shortly after 1 p.m. to the intersection of North Capitol Avenue and West Walnut Street in response to reports of a crash.
Officers arrived on the scene and determined that an IndyGo bus and one vehicle had been involved in a serious crash, IMPD said. Officers found five individuals on the scene suffering from injuries. All involved individuals were transported to area hospitals for medical treatment.
As of this article's publication, IMPD has not provided the exact conditions of the injured individuals.
The crash remains under investigation.
