INDIANAPOLIS — An Indianapolis landlord could face years behind bars after a tenant accused him of tearing out her hair and threatening her with a knife.

Jeremiah Rehm, 33, is charged with criminal confinement, a Level 3 felony; intimidation, a Level 5 felony: and battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to court documents, Indianapolis metro police were called to a residence on Maple Way on Aug. 27 on report of a disturbance with a weapon.

On scene, police officers encountered a woman who appeared "frightened, shaking and a chunk of her hair was missing."

According to her account, Rehm — who was both her landlord and her roommate — assaulted her and dragged her around by her hair, tearing out a chunk. He also reportedly drew a knife at one point and told her, "I can really make you hurt."

Police said the room where the assault allegedly occurred was in disarray with clumps of hair found on the ground. A knife was also found in the home.

Rehm denied the accusations and was taken into custody by the officers, documents detail.

If convicted of a Level 3 felony, Rehm could face up to 16 years in prison.
