NEWTON COUNTY, Ind. — A Newton County Deputy was shot on Sunday evening, according to a social post from the Newton County Sheriff's Office.
The deputy was critically injured in the incident that ended in Sheldon, Illinois.
The Illinois State Police will investigate the shooting.
