Early showers and storms will wind down and bring a return to more heat and humidity later today. Temperatures continue to be quite warm for the morning rush hour, as mugginess holds too! Bottom line: a steamy start with a limited shower/storm chance through 10 a.m.
This afternoon should remain fairly dry, as more heat builds with a return to the lower 90s. No record heat but hot enough with a Heat Advisory in effect until 8 p.m. Heat indices will push near 100°, at times, before storm chances return for the early evening, in parts of the state. Not all get the rain but at least chances are in play. We certainly could use the rainfall, as we remain below average for the month.
More 90° heat will continue for Thursday and Friday, before a cold front arrives Friday night and through early Saturday morning. This will bring the best chances for widespread rainfall statewide before a cooler, less humid flow gets underway for the holiday weekend.
