INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is responding after a vehicle flipped and caught fire following a police pursuit on the near north side on Sunday.
According to IMPD, officers were called around 11:29 a.m. to the intersection of E 38th St and Broadway St., where the vehicle had flipped and caught fire. Officers said they attempted to stop the vehicle, as it was in connection to a carjacking incident. The vehicle fled, which led to the pursuit and crash.
IMPD said they apprehended two juveniles in relation to the incident. They were transported to an area hospital with minor injuries. At least one of the minors will be arrested on the preliminary charge of fleeing a vehicle, Indianapolis Metro PD reported.
No suspects have been named at this time. This is a developing story.
