INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis Metropolitan police responded to a crash Monday morning and soon turned their attention to a shooting investigation.
Officers were dispatched to 38th Street and Lafayette Road around 6:15 a.m.
Police said the incident started as an investigation into a crash; they discovered the driver of one of the drivers had suffered gunshot wounds.
The man was taken to an area hospital; police didn't disclose the extent of his injuries, saying only that he was in stable condition.
Medics checked the other driver, who was released at the scene.
Police were still trying to determine where the initial shooting took place. The investigation is ongoing.
