INDIANAPOLIS — A shooting on the near west side of Indianapolis left a woman dead Sunday afternoon.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Division Street around 1:53 p.m. on a report of a person shot. When police arrived at the scene, they located a deceased woman who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound.
The woman has been identified as 34-year-old Jazmine Elizabeth Johnson.

During its investigation of the shooting, IMPD detained two individuals. The exact role the pair played in the shooting is currently unknown, and police have not officially arrested anybody for the shooting yet.
IMPD reported that it is attempting to obtain search warrants for a car and home that are believed to be implicated in the shooting. Police did not specify who owned the car or the home.
No firearms were found at the scene, per IMPD. As of this article's publication, no additional information on the shooting had been made available.
