Man in critical condition after near west side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man in critical condition early Monday morning.

According to IMPD, around 1:10 a.m. officers received a call for a person shot in the 3000 block of West Michigan Street. When officers arrived, they located an adult male on the porch of the house with a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition, but IMPD gave an update that the victim is now in stable condition.

Officers said the owners of the house stayed on scene and are cooperating.

Police do not have a description of the shooter, but they did find a gun inside the home.

IMPD did say an hour before the shooting, a call came out of a suspicious person but officers did not locate anyone. Police aren't sure if the runs are connected.
