INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating a case in which a person died on on the east side on Sunday, with injuries consistent of trauma.
According to IMPD, officers responded around 3:30 p.m. to a death investigation in the 3300 block of N. Shadeland Ave. Upon arrival, they found a female victim with trauma-related injuries. The victim was then pronounced deceased, IMPD said.
The Marion County Coroner's Office identified her as 38-year-old Yolanda Renee Shields and ruled her death a homicide.
IMPD said homicide detectives were still working to determine the circumstances surrounding Shields' death.
