The month of August will open unsettled today, as additional rain and storms will be in the mix, as early as mid-morning locally. This is coming off an already cooler than normal and very wet month of July. Rain could be heavy at times and a few stronger storms are expected throughout the day. Some areas or counties could receive up to an inch of rainfall in the heavier downpours. A few limited warnings expected but most should expect general storms today.

More rain and storms will be in play off and on for tonight and through Friday evening. With the unsettled pattern, temperatures should remain below average during the afternoon hours.

The weekend will begin to stabilize things, as more sunshine becomes available, aiding in a renewed warmer pattern, as near 90° temperatures return by Sunday. Expect a hot open next week before a cold front moves in Tuesday night.
