Highs in the 50s across the board on this Saturday made it feel more like late March outside. However, no complaints because we remained dry. By default, this weekend is perfect quarter-zip or sweater weather! Expect more of the same for Sunday and into the next week.
Patchy frost for some tonight/overnight
Frost is rarer at this time of the year. However, we've had it plenty of times in April. For Indianapolis, the average last date for frost is April 28th. Central Indiana has also seen nights hit 32°. The latest last freeze of the season was during Memorial Day weekend on May 27, 1961.

Overnight lows tonight are expected to get into the 30s, approaching the mid-to-lower 30s in our outlying areas. The ingredients are there for patchy frost. However, I do not expect this to be a widespread frost event. Do not be surprised if you wake up to frosty surfaces outside Sunday morning and again Monday morning. Highs on Sunday will be in the mid-to-upper 50s under mostly sunny skies.

With everything growing early due to how warm we've been, take extra steps with any outdoor plants! Cover them up to preserve internal heat. Or bring any potted plants inside. You will need to do that tonight and Sunday night/Monday morning. Jackets will be needed if you have plans that warrant being outside early.

Seasonable to slightly cooler next week; a couple rain chances
Most of next work week looks dry. This is a welcome sight after the soggy April it's been. Since April 1st, it has rained on 15 of those days. Monday looks dry and a bit better in the temperature department. Highs approach the mid-to-upper 60s, so a bit more seasonable. Next rain chance arrives Tuesday. A few thunderstorms are also possible before it moves out Tuesday night.

After that, another chance exists on Friday as we look to warm up potentially again toward next weekend. For now, get outside and enjoy the slightly cooler sweater weather!
