MIAMI COUNTY, Ind. — An officer was injured during an incident with an inmate at an Indiana Department of Corrections Facility in Miami County.
Per an IDOC spokesperson, the incident happened around 4:30 p.m. Saturday. The correctional officers was taken to a hospital in Fort Wayne after the incident, but he has since been released.
According to an IDOC Facebook post, the Miami Correction Facility and Miami Correctional Annex were on lockdown as of 8:15 a.m. Sunday. The post indicated all volunteer and visitation activities were suspended because of the lockdown.
The current status of the lockdown is unknown. As of this article's publication, no additional information on the incident had been made available.
