INDIANAPOLIS -- A man is in critical condition after being shot on Indy's near northeast side Friday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were dispatched around 9:35 p.m. to E. 29th Street and Ralston Avenue after receiving reports that a person had been shot. Upon arrival, IMPD Capt. Mark McCardia said officers found a "young male" suffering from numerous gunshot wounds.
The victim was barely conscious when officers found him before he was transported to an area hospital for emergency medical treatment, McCardia added. The victim was last reported to be in critical condition. No other information was immediately available.
The circumstances that led to the shooting remain under investigation.
