INDIANAPOLIS – A person who arrived at an area hospital early Friday morning had been shot during an attempted robbery, police say.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, East District officers responded around 4:40 a.m. to Community Hospital East, 1500 N. Ritter Ave., after a man arrived with gunshot wounds.
Aggravated Assault detectives spoke with a witness and learned the shooting happened at an Indianapolis apartment complex during what investigators characterized as an “attempted armed robbery.”
IMPD didn’t disclose the extent of the man’s injuries or provide additional details about the robbery.
The case remains under investigation.
