HENRY COUNTY, Ind. — Court docs show a woman charged with felony intimidation in Henry County is accused of cussing out families at a local campground and threatening a child with a large knife after being asked to turn down her loud music.

Jewelle Crawford mugshot

Jewelle A. Crawford, a 55-year-old Anderson woman, was arrested last week and charged with intimidation with a deadly weapon and disorderly conduct for loud noise after police were called to Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park in Knightstown for an "irate" woman armed with a machete.

Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office were sent to the park around 8 p.m. last Friday after 911 received calls from parkgoers that a woman with a large blade was yelling and intimidating their children.

Upon arrival, HCSO said they found a woman later identified as Crawford sitting in a car with two juveniles. Crawford reportedly told deputies she "had a knife at one point" to cut firewood and that she was arguing with a man who had chest-bumped her, but denied making threats.

Deputies then spoke with a man camping nearby who said Crawford had been blasting loud music and that she got "riled up and started m-effin" when asked to turn it down. The man said Crawford then started threatening his wife and waving a big knife around.

"All I can hear is that fat blonde b***h," Crawford reportedly said. "I'll cut that b***c from ear to ear."

A family in the next lot over also told police that Crawford was yelling at them, intimidating and mocking their children while still holding the knife.

"F this you f***ing Karens, I got more money," she is quoted as yelling. "All your kids are brain dead, at least mine aren't r******d like yours."

A child with the family said that Crawford pulled the knife on her and made thrusting motions toward her. The girl told deputies she felt threatened and thought Crawford might actually hurt her.

Several other campers in the area as well as park employees provided similar stories to deputies, court documents show. During a search of Crawford's car, deputies reportedly found a thick knife with two large, hooked blades attached to a handle with a Batman logo hidden in the seat.

After consulting with a deputy prosecutor, deputies arrested Crawford. While being driven to the Henry County Jail, she reportedly made several comments about how she distrusted "crooked Hoosier cops" and said she was surprised it took her this long in life to get arrested.

Online court records now show an initial hearing in Crawford's case is scheduled for July 18.
