According to court documents, the Minnesota man was visiting Indiana to meet with a woman that he met online when he learned that Sanchez was allegedly making threats towards the female. Kidd decided to confront the teen where he was staying.
Upon going to the home, Sanchez opened the door and opened fire on Kidd. The other individuals who were with Kidd drove off, leaving him on the porch with the suspect. One of the individuals that left the scene reported the information to police a short time later.
Three individuals told officers that they never saw Kidd in possession of a firearm. Sanchez, however, claimed that there was a gun in his waistband and that the victim hopped out of a van and pulled it out while peering through the windows of his home.
The gun that was found near Kidd was reported stolen to the Delaware County Sheriff's Office on April 5, 2023, which was approximately two years prior to Kidd ever coming to Muncie.
In the court documents, officers reported that Sanchez repeatedly changed his story.
This is an active investigation. Information will be updated as it becomes available.
