GREENFIELD, Ind. -- An Indianapolis man was killed during a Monday morning accident involving two pedestrians in the parking lot of a Community Health Network office building in Greenfield.

At around 10 a.m. on Monday, first responders were dispatched to 740 W. Green Meadows Drive on a reported serious injury crash, according to a news release from the department.

When they arrived, they found a man and a woman who were injured. The man was pronounced dead at the scene while the woman was taken to an Indianapolis hospital for further treatment.

Officials said the department's fatal accident crash team was called to investigate the incident. The release said the driver of a box truck was operating the document shredding part of the truck when it "lunged forward" and struck a parked vehicle, the two pedestrians and another parked vehicle.

The release said the operator of the truck is "fully cooperating with investigators and has submitted to a blood test, which is protocol for an accident resulting in serious injury or death."

"Our prayers are with the families of everyone involved in this tragic accident and all who ran to help," the release said.

The department did not identify the person who died in this incident. This story will be updated if the identity of the man is released by the Hancock County Coroner's Office.
