INDIANAPOLIS — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near the Indianapolis Italian Street Festival on Saturday.
Public police reporting systems indicate law enforcement was first called to the area of Stevens Street and South East Street on a report of a crash. Indy's Italian street festival was happening at Holy Rosary Catholic Church — which is located at 520 Stevens Street — at the time of the crash.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department indicated one vehicle was involved in the incident.
The pedestrian who was struck during the crash was an adult male, per IMPD. The man is currently in serious condition, according to police.
IMPD reported that the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
