AVON, Ind. — Avon police are looking to arrest a local man after he reportedly broke into a coworker's house this week to perform an exorcism on someone he thought was possessed.

An active arrest warrant has been issued for Robert Nalker, a 38-year-old Avon man who has been charged in Hendricks County with felony residential entry, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct. Avon Police Department officers are now looking to arrest Nalker.

The charges against Nalker stem from an incident early Tuesday morning where APD was called to a home for a possible ongoing burglary. The caller told 911 dispatch around 1:20 a.m. that a man had broken into their house and was screaming.

Officers arrived and found a white 2005 Prius in the driveway that was still running. On the front porch, police made contact with the victim who said that a man they knew as Robbie was inside and should not be.

APD said officers yelled inside for the man to come out and that eventually Nalker, who was covered in blood, walked outside and said "I lost my sunglasses." When asked why he was bleeding, Nalker reportedly said he had to break in the window to perform an exorcism.

While being handcuffed, Nalker reportedly said he came to the house alone and kept repeating "she hasn't been stabbed" and "she's possessed." Officers also said Nalker asked them to go inside, find his CD and "play track number 3 to save her."

Nalker, who was bleeding from a cut on his head, kept yelling and told officer to get off of him and not to "look in his f***ing eyes."

Officers spoke with the victim, who said they'd known Nalker since 2002 and that they worked together at Chick-fil-A. The victim said Nalker would send strange text messages about "not listening to Spotify."

While searching the house, officers found that a window was broken in the dining room by the back door. Glass was shattered and a large trail of blood was on the ground from the window to the kitchen. On the island, they found a bloody CD and CD case along with a paper towel.

Downstairs, officers found that the house's entertainment and stereo system had been thrown around and broken. On the projection screen, there was reportedly an attempt to spell a word starting with the letter R in blood. A pair of bloody sunglasses were also found downstairs.

Nalker was detained and taken by medics to Hendricks Regional Health Hospital in Danville for an evaluation. Eventually, a doctor admitted Nalker due to his mental state.

Given the evidence found on scene, APD requested and was granted a warrant to arrest Nalker. Online court and jail records show Nalker has not yet been arrested, but that a no-contact order has been issued against him. No mugshot is available of Nalker.
