INDIANAPOLIS – Crews pulled a submerged car out of the water Monday morning.
Emergency responders were dispatched just before 5:15 a.m. to West Southport Road and South Tibbs Avenue on the south side.
There, they found a vehicle submerged in the water. Video showed a Hyundai sedan in the pond; crews attached a line to the vehicle and were able to pull it out.
The call originally came in as a drown rescue, although investigators said no one was inside the vehicle.
They also said a brick was on the gas pedal, indicating that someone intentionally ditched the car. They believe the vehicle had been stolen.
The incident remains under investigation.
