INDIANAPOLIS — Police are investigating after a man was shot and killed during a disturbance early Saturday morning on Indy's west side.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, just after 1 a.m., officers were called to the Maple Creek Village Apartments in the 3800 block of West Michigan Street on a report of a person shot.
When officers arrived, they located an adult male with injuries consistent with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on scene, according to police.
Police say a disturbance among several individuals took place in the parking lot of the apartment complex before the shooting.
The Marion County Coroner's Office will identify the decedent after his family has been properly notified of his death.
