NOBLESVILLE, Ind. — A Jet Ski driver was arrested after crashing into another Jet Ski and sending the driver to the hospital with a head injury.
Zane Ransom was booked into the Hamilton County Jail on Thursday night on preliminary charges of operating a motorboat with a blood alcohol content of .08% or more and causing serious injury, a Level 6 felony.
According to the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, Ransom and some friends were driving Jet Skis on Morse Reservoir Thursday at around 8:20 p.m. One of the Jet Skis reported turned and Ransom collided with the watercraft.
DNR said all parties were checked out by EMS on scene with the driver of the Jet Ski that Ransom crashed into being sent to a hospital with a head injury.
DNR said alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash.
Court records show this isn't the first time Ransom has been arrested for operating a vehicle while intoxicated. In 2023, Ransom was arrested in Shelby County and charged with an OWI.
Ransom ended up pleading guilty to a misdemeanor OWI charge and being sentenced to nearly one year of probation.
