Johnson County Sheriff's deputy involved in 2-vehicle crash

JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. — A Johnson County Sheriff's deputy was involved in a two-vehicle crash while responding to an emergency call on Wednesday.

According to the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, the deputy's car was T-boned on the passenger side by an SUV near the intersection of Whiteland Road and U.S. Highway 31 around 2:22 p.m.

Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess indicated that the deputy was transported to Franciscan Health in Indianapolis with complaints of pain. JCSO reported that the deputy will likely be back to work in about a week.

The deputy's vehicle was totaled in the crash, according to Burgess. The deputy was responding to a different crash in the eastern part of the county when his vehicle was struck.
