CARMEL, Ind. — A Carmel man now faces several felony charges after police say he hit a woman with his car twice in her front lawn after she broke up with him on the ride home.

Corey M. Davis, 36, was arrested over the holiday weekend on battery and domestic violence charges after Carmel Police Department officers were called to a person who was "intentionally hit by a vehicle," court docs show.
CPD officers responded around 2:30 a.m. Sunday to a house on E. 105th Street after a woman called and said her boyfriend hit her with his black 2015 Mercedes Benz C30. The victim reported that her boyfriend, later identified as Davis, then drove away.
Officers arrived to find tire marks on the front lawn of the residence coming from the road. The victim told police she and Davis got into an argument while driving home, which led to her ending the relationship. She told police Davis stopped the car and let her out near her house.
As she walked to the front door, the victim told police she heard the engine rev and that the sound was getting closer. She reportedly tried to move to the side before feeling the car hit the back of her legs, causing her to come off the ground and flip onto the hood.
The victim said Davis then stopped the car, throwing her off the hood onto the ground, before hitting her again in the chest and rib area as she tried to get up. Another witness also described seeing Davis hit the victim with his car twice before driving away.
Court documents show that the victim went inside and called 911 before Davis returned to the house. When he noticed that she was on the phone, Davis allegedly tried to disconnect the call. Police said he was heard on the 911 call yelling at the victim before again leaving the house.
Police were able to begin tracking the suspect and his car to an address on the far east side of Indianapolis, where he was eventually found by IMPD officers and detained without further incident.
While being interviewed, police said Davis initially denied that he was in Carmel or with the victim any time that day. However, when officers confronted him with conflicting information, he reportedly admitted that he and the victim were together but said nothing violent happened.
As officers inspected Davis' car, they noticed the Mercedes was "very dirty" on the front end. However, the dirt found on the hood of the vehicle was disturbed and smeared. Police said this served as further evidence against Davis.
Davis was ultimately arrested and booked into the Hamilton County Jail on preliminary charges of felony domestic battery with a deadly weapon, criminal recklessness, leaving the scene of an accident and interference in reporting a crime. He made an initial appearance in court Tuesday.
