INDIANAPOLIS – A person died in a hit-and-run crash on the west side early Tuesday morning.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were dispatched around 1:20 a.m. to the 6000 block of West Washington Street after a person was reportedly hit by a vehicle.
Police found an adult male suffering from trauma; he was pronounced dead. On Tuesday, the Marion County Coroner's Office identified the person who died as 47-year-old Roy Wayne Hodges Jr.
The vehicle that hit the man didn’t stay at the scene, IMPD said, and accident investigators responded. Police did not provide information about the suspect vehicle or driver.
The incident remains under investigation.
