ISP: I-69 northbound to reopen near Fishers after serious crash caused hours-long closure

Update (8:55 p.m.)

Officials with the Indiana State Police said that I-69 northbound should be back open around 9 p.m. Officials said that drivers should still expect delays while traffic clears.

Update (8:39 p.m.)

Officials with the Indiana State Police said that all I-69 southbound lanes are now open. I-69 northbound at the 205 mile marker remains closed.

Update (5:38 p.m.)

In an update on social media, officials with the Indiana State Police said that I-69 northbound continues to be closed at the 205 mile marker. I-69 southbound has reopened one lane. Officials said drivers should continue to expect long delays.

Officials with the Indiana State Police said that the crash on I-69 has closed the highway in both directions at the 205 mile marker.

"Expect long delays," a post on social media read. "Try to avoid the area. Give emergency crews space to operate."

INDIANAPOLIS -- All lanes of I-69 northbound are closed after a serious crash near the 205 mile marker in Hamilton County Monday afternoon, according to the Indiana State Police.

Sgt. John Perrine, the public information officer for the Indiana State Police, said in a post on social media that traffic is currently being diverted onto NB SR 37 in Fishers.

The post read that the crash is serious. The impacted portion of I-69 is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.

In an additional statement from the Indiana State Police, officials said drivers should expect long delays on the northbound and the southbound sides of I-69 near the 205 mile marker. There is no time frame for reopening I-69 northbound at the 205 mile marker.
