LAWRENCE, Ind. -- Lawrence police are investigating after a juvenile was shot and killed Tuesday night.
Officers with the Lawrence Police Department were dispatched around 8:40 p.m. to the 4600 block of Birmingham Drive in response to a person shot run in the area. LPD said officers arrived and found a juvenile male suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
The victim was initially transported to IU Methodist Hospital in critical condition, according to LPD. LPD Deputy Chief Travis Cline said officers immediately attempted life-saving measures until medics arrived.
A short time later, LPD confirmed the victim had died.
The shooting remains under investigation as detectives are continuing to determine a possible motive. LPD has provided no suspect information as of Tuesday night.
