LAWRENCE, Ind. — The Lawrence Police Department has launched an OVWI investigation in the 6600 block of Sunnyside Road after a car struck a house in the area.
An LPD spokesperson told FOX59 and CBS4 that officers were first dispatched to Sunnyside Drive around 5:36 p.m. after receiving reports of a crash involving a driver who hit a home. When police arrived at the scene, they located a male exhibiting "obvious signs" of intoxication.
FOX59 and CBS4 crews at the scene saw a home with damaged brick and a truck being towed from the area.

A witness helped police identify the male as the driver of the vehicle involved in the crash. LPD reported that the male was detained and then treated by medics.
The male was transported to Eskenazi Hospital so officers could continue their OVWI investigation, per LPD.
Police indicated that nobody was in the home at the time of the crash. No injuries were reported by LPD.
