Bitter day with more light snow by evening

Skies are clear and temperatures quite bitter to begin this Thursday morning! Harsh wind chills out-the-door border on dangerous, as the arctic air has spilled across the state. Expect a bright start but little relief in warmth.

This afternoon, clouds will increase and thicken, as temperatures struggle to reach the middle 20s. Winds will remain steady from the west, southwest at 8-15 mph. Light snow will begin to develop around 4 p.m. and continue through the late evening.

The steadiest will fall mainly north of downtown, as roads likely turn slick in this colder regime of air. Although totals will only range from a dusting to 1", considering its powdery nature, it won't take much to create some larger issues.
