INDIANAPOLIS — The New York Knicks will be without a key player during Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.
Guard OG Anunoby will miss the pivotal contest with a left hamstring injury, according to the NBA's injury report. Anunoby hasn't played since Game 2 of the series last Wednesday.
The Knicks will also be without center Mitchell Robinson, who has been dealing with a "left ankle stress injury," per the NBA's report. ESPN's Brian Windhorst has reported that Robinson underwent ankle surgery on Monday.
Windhorst indicated Robinson won't be re-evaluated for another 6-8 weeks.
New York forwards Bojan Bogdanovich (foot) and Julius Randle (shoulder) have been out since April after undergoing season-ending surgeries.
Guard Bennedict Mathurin is the only player guaranteed to be missing from the Pacers' rotation Tuesday. The 15 ppg had to get a season-ending shoulder surgery in March.
Indiana point guard Tyrese Haliburton is listed as questionable for Game 5 with a litany of injuries, including lower back spasms, a sacral contusion and a right ankle sprain.
Haliburton has struggled with injuries for much of the 2023-24 season. In January, the 2024 All-Star sustained a hamstring injury. He missed 10 games with the ailment.
The Knicks and Pacers are currently tied, 2-2, in the Eastern Conference Semifinals. The Pacers will have a chance to close the series out in Game 6 at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Friday, should they pick up a win in New York on Tuesday night.
If Indiana and New York split their next two games, the series will be decided in a Game 7 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.
The winner of the Pacers-Knicks series will play the winner of the Celtics-Cavaliers series. Boston currently leads Cleveland, 3-1, and has a chance to clinch a victory at TD Garden on Wednesday evening.
Indiana went 2-3 against Boston during the regular season. The Pacers split their season series with the Cavaliers, 2-2.
If the Pacers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, they will likely play two home games during the week of the Indianapolis 500.
Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals will begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday and air on TNT.
