Warmth to continue building Sunday
It was a fantastic day to be outside! That's because our cold start to December ended. Seasonable temperatures in the 40s occurred and the warm stretch is not done yet. Thanks to a flattening jet stream, air from the Pacific will continue spreading east. This will make temperatures approach 50° Sunday with several hometowns surpassing that number.

Rain moves in late Sunday
The daytime Sunday will be dry. However, clouds will be on the rise later Sunday afternoon and evening ahead of our next weathermaker. Rain chances will go up late, peaking close to 50-60% coverage by Midnight. Rain will begin SW and move NE throughout the night. See the slideshow below for a Futurecast timeline. When all is said and done, some spots could approach a decent 0.25-0.50" of rainfall. No severe weather forecast but down heavier downpours in spots can't be ruled out.

Monday for the most part should be dry minus a few scattered showers. It will be breezy with the southwest winds continuing. Highs again will be around 50° before the cold front comes knocking Tuesday.
Cooling off again starting Tuesday
This front will drop temperatures throughout the day. Another blast of cooler air from Canada will rush in following the front's passage. Tuesday calls for highs in the 40s and a shifting wind. A few rain or snow showers are also possible later in the day.

Wednesday will be the coolest day of the week. Highs will likely stay below freezing across many hometowns. Lows will be in the teens with chills in the single digits. Thursday will be cooler before we gradually begin to warm up again. Highs will turn more seasonable Friday with temperatures in the 40s.
It's also increasingly likely that above-normal temperatures will be the story in the days leading up to the holidays. For mid-to-late December, normal highs are in the upper 30s to near 40° for reference. This means many days into the 40s or perhaps hitting 50° are entirely possible. For now, enjoy the rest of the warm weekend!
