INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers arrested a man for a late November double burglary, the department wrote on Monday.
According to IMPD, officers were initially called around 4 a.m. on Nov. 29 to the 300 block of Sanders Street. There, they observed a man and woman stating that a male forced his way into their residence and may still be inside.
Per that man and woman, the suspect was a Black male who appeared under the influence of drugs, reportedly talking about "people being after him and trying to kill him."
In fact, court documents indicate that the suspect grabbed the man, clawed his back and scratched his arm.
Police secured the man and woman's residence and viewed doorbell footage that showed the suspect's appearance.
Later that morning, around 4:24 a.m., officers were dispatched to a burglary taking place at an undisclosed location on Union Street. Upon arrival, IMPD said they found a man holding down a suspect who was later identified as 29-year-old Adam Hill.
IMPD stated that Hill matched the exact clothing, facial hair, hairstyle and physical build as what was seen in the doorbell footage.
While searching Hill, police said they found a burnt glass pipe in a pocket of his jacket. Hill was placed under arrest and transported to lockup, according to officers.
According to publicly-available online court records, Hill faces the following preliminary charges:
- Two counts of residential entry (Level 6 Felony)
- Battery resulting in bodily injury (Class A misdemeanor)
- Two counts of criminal mischief damage between $750 and $50,000 (Class A misdemeanor)
- Possession of paraphernalia (Class C misdemeanor)
Moreover, court docs stated that Hill has prior convictions for:
- Two counts of burglary
- Armed robbery (Level 3 Felony)
