Skies have cleared after light snow fell (less than a 1/2") on Monday evening. Roads are still slick and many school delays are underway. Along with some icy roads, temperatures have dropped back now into the teens, in most locations.
Heavy gear out-the-door to wear will be needed and some extra time for the morning rush hour.
Bright skies expected all day and a slight bump in afternoon highs as temperatures will reach around 32° in downtown marking the "warmest" air since Saturday afternoon. Winds will stay light from the southwest at 5-10 mph.
Wednesday will bring a ton of wind and heavier clouds, with an approaching cold front. Gusts up to 40 mph will be possible at times and a few rain showers may dot the area through the afternoon. Behind the cold front, snow showers will take hold and a few slick spots will be possible late Wednesday and into Thursday morning. Along with the light snow chances, another sharp drop in temperatures will take us through Friday afternoon.
The weekend will bring a return to milder air, finally! Both days now look dry and temperatures are likely to reach into the 50s on Sunday.
