INDIANAPOLIS — A juvenile was critically injured in a shooting on the east side of Indianapolis Friday afternoon.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers were called to the 5200 block of East 21st Street around 12:53 p.m. on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, police found a juvenile victim with injuries consistent with gunshot wounds.

The victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition after the shooting. Police have not released any updates on the juvenile's current medical status.
As of this article's publication, no additional information on the shooting had been made available. IMPD has not yet named any suspects or specified exactly what led up to the shooting.
There were two shootings within six miles of each other on East 21st Street on Friday. Just over an hour before the juvenile was shot in the 5200 block of 21st Street, a man was shot and killed on Braeburn East Drive — which is located near the 8200 block of East 21st Street.
