INDIANAPOLIS -- Three new flights will be added to the Indianapolis International Airport next spring, allowing Hoosiers to travel to new cities on both Allegiant Airlines and Frontier Airlines.
According to a news release from the airport, Allegiant Airlines recently announced a new nonstop flight from Indianapolis to Portland, Oregon while Frontier Airlines announced flights from Indianapolis to Atlanta, Georgia and to Tampa, Florida. All three flights will begin in the spring of 2025.
“Along with more flights and more options, this will be the first nonstop flight out of Indy to Portland,” said Mario Rodriguez, Indianapolis Airport Authority executive director. “These new flights enhance access to major cities on both coasts and into the Sun Belt – and brings our total nonstop count to 51.”
The release said that the Allegiant nonstop flight to Portland will operate twice weekly starting on May 23, 2025. Officials said Portland was among the airport's top 10 unserved routes. The Frontier flight to Atlanta will operate three times a week starting on March 7, 2025 and the Tampa nonstop flight will operate three times per week starting on March 6, 2025.
“Portland is a long-awaited win,” Maggie Cunningham, the IAA's director of air service and airport experience, said in the release. “We’ve been working to secure access to PDX since 2016 to bridge the market gap – and in May, we will officially close it. All of these are expected year-round flights that put more options on the board for passengers needing to reach these cities directly for work or play.”
